Elie Azar
Director of Sales, Private Markets
Elie brings to Hovey Capital Partners over 20 years of experience encompassing multi asset sales at major investment banks and private real estate and land development. He started his career in Convertible Bonds sales at BNP Paribas in London, UK in 2000 where he spent three years covering European funds.
Driven & entrepreneurial, Elie later moved to HVB Unicredit to help set up the London EMEA convertibles and credit Hedge Fund sales desk.
He subsequently spent the next seven years working at UBS’ and Bank of America’s London offices covering both Institutional and Hedge Fund clients in developed and emerging markets with respect to IG & HY Credit. Continuing a trend of covering sophisticated investors, these roles included optimised execution and idea generation in Credit Derivatives for several strategies including Long/Short credit, Relative Value, Event driven, Merger Arbitrage, Special Situations and Macro.
From 2015 onwards, Elie moved to the Middle East to develop private real estate before joining Hovey Capital Partners in 2021. His academic background includes a BSc in Economics from Université St-Joseph in Beirut and an MBA from ESE London. Elie’s strong language skills translate into a fluency to speak English, French and Arabic. Like many of his new colleagues at HCP, he is a keen tennis player.
